At the supper table one evening, a father asked his little girl
to give thanks for the meal. After careful examination of each dish of
food on the table, the little lassie bowed her head and prayed, “Lord Jesus,
I don’t like the looks of it, but I thank you for it, and I’ll eat it anyway.”
There may be times when we sit
down at the table-of-life and don’t like what has been dished out to us.
It is at such times we must take courage and pray, “Heavenly Father, although
I don’t like the looks of things, I thank you for them anyway, and by your
grace I will swallow them; For I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me'" (Phillipians 4:13).
