 If one were to walk across a sandy beach in search of lost coins, they might skim the surface with their eyes and not detect a thing; but if they were to use a metal detector, they would be drawn to hidden treasures not visible to the eye.
Similarly, the unappreciative heart merely skims through life and seldom discovers anything for which to be thankful; but the appreciative heart, like a metal detector, is continuously finding hidden blessings in every situation for which to give thanks.
Gratitude is the language of God. Therefore, if we are to be on speaking terms with Him we must be thankful.
