When the capital of Spain was under seize by Muslim invaders, King Alphonso rode out to defend his beloved city. During the battle, the king's son was captured. The captors demanded, "the city or your son." Would the king give up the city and allow his people to be enslaved, or would he sacrifice his son? Without hesitation he replied, "Let my son die that the people may live."
Such is the sacrifice our Heavenly Father made for us when He sacrificed His son, Jesus, for our sins. The result is spiritual life for all who confess their sins and receive Him as their Lord and Saviour.
