Set Your Sails

 According to your faith
be it unto you.

(Matthew 9:29)

Ship     During one of Hudson Taylor's trips to China, the wind died down as the ship upon which he was sailing passed by an island known to be inhabited by cannibals. As the ship drifted closer to shore, the savages eagerly gathered in anticipation of their next meal. In desperation, the ship's captain asked Mr. Taylor to pray for God's help. He agreed to do so providing the captain set his sails in expectation of a breeze. As Hudson Taylor was praying, the captain came and informed him that he could stop praying, for God had sent more than enough wind to carry them to safety.
When your sails are empty and you find yourself adrift on a sea of troubles, set your sails in anticipation of God's answer and take it to the Lord in prayer. King David said, "O Lord... in the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me” (Psalm 86:6,7). Acts 10:34 tells us that God is no respecter of persons. Therefore, what He did for Hudson Taylor and King David He will do for you.
