Thomas Jackson (1824-1863) was one of the most renowned generals of the Confederacy, during the American Civil War. At the First Battle of Bull Run, Jackson and his men formed an unmovable line of defense and held their position in the face of overwhelming odds. Another Confederate general noticed Jackson's line and cried, "There stands Jackson like a stone wall." From that time forth, he became known as "Stonewall" Jackson.
Likewise; when as a child of God we are confronted by adversity, God enables us to stand unmovable like a wall and not be overcome. He has promised, "I will make thee... a... wall... and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee" (Jeremiah 15:20).
