Coal is sometimes called “buried sunshine” because it is a derivative of ancient plant life which once lived and captured the energy of the sun's rays.
Like coal buried within the heart of the earth; God's word, buried within our heart, provides us with a source of sunshine for brightening life's dreary days. As coal warms the tired and weary body, God's precious promises warm the weary and troubled heart.
Proverbs 12:25 tells us, "Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad."
Of a certainty God's word is good, for God is good. Therefore, take time today to hide the sunshine of God's good word in your heart that it may brighten life’s dreary days when they come your way.
