A woodsman hiked out into the woods, one cold winter day, to chop a load of firewood. As he trudged home carrying a large bundle of wood, he began grumbling to himself about how heavy his burden was. Suddenly, he crossed paths with a mountain lion. In self-defense, he began throwing pieces of the wood at the beast. To his great relief, the big cat scampered away. The very burden that he had been complaining about, turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
We must be careful of what we complain about. It just may be that the Lord is preparing to give us a blessing. Therefore, "murmur not..." (John 6:43); but "be ye thankful" (Colossians 3:15).
