 The age of antibiotics began in 1928 when Sir Alexander Fleming, a British bacteriologist, discovered penicillin. Since then, many other life-saving antibiotics have been discovered. These "wonder drugs" serve as a doctor's best weapon against infectious diseases because of their ability to cleanse the body of harmful germs.
Just as antibiotics cleanse our body of harmful germs which would destroy it and send it to the grave, "the blood of Jesus Christ... cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7) which would destroy our soul and send it to hell. Therefore, "yield yourselves unto God" (Romans 6:13), just as you would yield yourself to your physician, and be "washed...in the blood of the Lamb" (Rev. 7:14).
