Tungsten is a hard, silver-white metal which has a very high melting point. When exposed to extremely high temperatures tungsten retains its strength, refusing to be weakened and melt away. Because of these extraordinary properties, tungsten is used in the incandescent light bulb as a filament through which electricity is passed. The electricity generates intense heat within the filament. Because of its unusual strength, it refuses to melt when the heat is applied. The tungsten filament stands its ground and glows, thus producing light for expelling the darkness.
Likewise, when the trials of life heat up, don't give up and melt away. Be like the tungsten. Stand your ground and glorify God in the midst of your fiery trials. Glow for Jesus. Doing so will expel the spiritual powers of darkness.
"Be strong and of a good courage" (Joshua 1:9); for "the Lord... shall sustain thee" (Psalm 55:22).
