Bread is one the oldest foods known to man. Because of man's dependency upon bread, it is often referred to as the staff of life. Important as it is though, it can never offer us lasting satisfaction. For "all the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled" (Ecc. 6:7); because, "whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly and is cast out..." (Matt. 15:17).
Therefore, "labor not for the meat (bread) which perisheth, but for that meat (bread) which endureth unto everlasting life..." (Jn. 6:27).
Feast your soul upon Jesus who said, "I am the bread of life ...the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever" (John 6:35,51).
Accept Jesus' invitation to "come and dine" (Jn. 21:12). For "He satisfieth the... hungry soul with goodness" (Ps. 107:9).
