Soap molecules are long and cylindrical in shape. One end of the molecule repels water while the other end is attracted to water. When we bathe, the end of the soap molecules which repel water attach themselves to dirt particles on our body; while at the same time, the other end which is attracted to water pulls it away--back into the water. Once the dirt particles are in the water, a thin layer of soap surrounds them making it impossible for the dirt to reattach itself to our body. The dirt particles remain in the water until they are rinsed away.
Just as soap is used to cleanse our outer body, "the blood of Jesus Christ... cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7) on the inside. Therefore, accept the Lord's invitation and be made clean.
"Come now... saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow..." (Is.1:18).
