Wrapped up In Jesus

 The God of all comfort...
comforteth us...

(2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

Comforter Quilt     The archeological discovery of a carved ivory figure of the 1st Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh (3400 BC) wearing a quilted garment suggests that quilting is a very old craft. Quilting is the sandwiching of soft fibers between two layers of cloth and stitching them together in patterns to prevent the filling from shifting. Over the millenniums, quilted clothes and bedding have brought many a comfort to people's lives. Because of the great comfort quilted blankets provide to the person wrapped up inside, they are often called "comforters."
When we get wrapped up in Jesus, like a person wrapped up in a comforter, we also shall experience great comfort. Like the psalmist, we will be able to say, "Thou Lord hast... comforted me" (Psalm 86:17) "...on every side" (Psalm 71:21).
