 Turtles are unique creatures in that they carry with them their dwelling place in the form of a shell. It was designed, by their Creator, to serve as a place of shelter and refuge where they can hide in troublesome times.
Just as the shell of a turtle provides them with refuge, we also can find a place of refuge in the Lord Jesus Christ, when we make Him "our dwelling place" (Psalm 90:1).
"The Lord... will be... a refuge in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9). He is our "shelter" (Psalm 61:3) and "hiding place" (Psalm 32:7).
Therefore, "put your trust in the Lord" (Psalm 4:5). For "whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe" (Proverbs 29:25).
