Angler fish are named for their method of 'fishing' for food. Located atop the head of the female deep sea anglers is a protrusion of the dorsal fin which extends out over the head and suspends just above their mouth. It looks like a small 'fishing rod' -- the tip of which glows intermittently, so as to lure unsuspecting prey to a deadly end.
In this world there are many sinful pleasures that glitter and glow; but when one goes in for a closer look, like a fish attracted to the glowing lure of the deadly angler fish, the end may not be very pleasant.
Therefore, "depart from the snares of death" (Pr. 13:14) and "return unto the LORD..." (Is. 55:7) for "the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him... to deliver their soul from death" (Ps. 33:18,19).
