The Ordinance of Nullification was adopted by the state of South Carolina in November 1832. It declared null and void the federal government's laws governing the "Tariffs of 1828 and 1832". All collection of the tariffs was to stop. Any attempt by the federal government to collect the tariffs would result in South Carolina's secession from the United States.
Like South Carolina's Ordinance of Nullification concerning the laws of the U.S. federal government, some feel that they can declare their own ordinance of nullification concerning Jehovah God's laws recorded in the Holy Bible. They accept the portions that they agree with and declare null and void the portions that they disagree with. Thus, they "...reject the commandment of God... making the word of God of none effect..." (Mk 7:9,13) in their lives.
God's word, the Holy Bible, is not a smorgasbord from which we can pick and choose. God has declared in Malachi 3:6, "I am the Lord, I change not." Therefore if God changes not, we can be certain that His word is also unchangeable.
