Billy Mitchell (1879-1936) was a U.S. army officer who advocated the need for military air supremacy. Many thought his claims were exaggerated and branded him as an extremist. He responded with outspoken criticisms of his superiors which lead to his court-martial in 1925. Early in World War II, events proved Mitchell's predictions to be true. In 1942, congress posthumously vindicated Mitchell and restored him to the rank of major general and in 1946 he was awarded the Medal of Honor.
Like Billy Mitchell who was called an extremist for speaking the truth, many Bible believing Christians have also been branded as such for speaking God's truths. But we, like Mitchell, will be vindicated when "we... all appear before the judgment seat of Christ..." (2Co 5:10). "Then shall... King (Jesus) say unto (His followers), come, ye blessed... inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Mt 25:34)
Therefore, "when men... revile you... for (Christ's) sake; rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven" (Mt 5:11,12).
