The "conquistadors" were Spanish soldiers and explorers who set out in the 1500's to expand the Spanish empire by conquest of the Americas. The word "conquistador" means "one who conquers." Often outnumbered by their foes, these conquerors were forced to face great odds. Never-the-less, they put aside their fears and confidently marched on to victory.
Like the Spanish conquistadors, the children of Jehovah God are also called to be conquerors and overcome the works of satanic darkness. Jesus said, "I give unto you power.... over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Lk 10:19). God's children don't have to live in fear because "greater is He (Jesus) that is in you, than he (satan) that is in the world" (Jn 4:4). Therefore, "be... of a good courage... (Josh 1:9) and "cast not away... your confidence..." (Heb 10:35). "Stand fast in the Lord" (1Thes 3:8) "...and in nothing (be) terrified by your adversaries..." (Heb 10:35).
