In February 1941 World War I U.S. flying ace, Eddie Rickenbacker (1890-1973), was badly injured in an airplane crash. Laying in the hospital listening to the radio, he heard commentator Walter Winchell announce that he was dying from his crash wounds. Rickenbacker later recollected his reaction to Winchell's comment, "I began to fight. They had me under an oxygen tent. I tore it apart and picked up a pitcher. I heaved it at the radio and scored a direct hit... and Winchell's voice stopped. Then I got well."
When you, as Rickenbacker, are down and satan, like Winchell, is declaring your defeat, do what Rickenbacker did. Shut off satan's voice of doom. Ignore what others are saying and put your "trust in the Lord..." (Ps 37:1,3). For "God will come... and save you" (Isa 35:4). "None of them that trust in Him shall be desolate" (Ps 34:22).
