Johann Mendel (1822-1884) made an important contribution to the science of genetics that governs heredity and inherited characteristics. As a member of the Augustinian Monastery, Mendel spent much time there working in the garden experimenting with pea plants. After eight years of careful cultivation and observations, he published his findings. They went unnoticed and were forgotten until many years later when several scientists found his forgotten work and recognized its importance.
Perhaps you, like Johann Mendel, have worked hard at something and your efforts were forgotten or unnoticed. Man may forget but, "God is not unrighteous to forget your work" (Heb 6:10). For "thus saith the Lord... thou shalt not be forgotten of me" (Isa 44:2,21). Therefore "be not weary in well doing" (2Th 3:13) for "your work shall be rewarded" (2Ch 15:7).
