 The Washburn Expedition of 1870, led by Henry Washburn (1832-1871), explored the region now known as the Yellowstone National Park. In the course of their travels, the explorers noticed a particular geyser which erupted at somewhat regular intervals and named it Old Faithful. Old Faithful is a natural spring under which lies hot volcanic rock called magma. The heat from the magma boils the water causing a hydrothermal eruption that sends hot water and steam gushing skyward through its vent. Although the intervals between Old Faithful's eruptions may vary, spectators can be certain of one thing, Old Faithful will always deliver.
Like Old Faithful, also "the Lord is faithful" (2Th 3:3) to deliver. For "thus saith the Lord... I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee" (Jer 15:19,20). "The righteous cry, and the Lord... delivereth them out of all their troubles" (Ps 34:17).
