Act Of Providence

The Lord is... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
(2 Peter 3:9)

Henry Tandey     In October 1918, during WWI, a wounded German soldier limped into British private Henry Tandey's (1891-1977) line of fire. Tandey later said, "I took aim but couldn't shoot a wounded man, so I let him go." The German gave a nod of thanks and walked away. That man was Adolf Hitler. Hitler later recognized his savior from a newspaper photo of Tandey receiving the Victoria Cross. In 1938 when British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain visited Hitler in Germany, he noticed a painting featuring Tandey. Upon his inquiry Hitler replied, "that man came so near to killing me that I thought I should never see Germany again, Providence saved me..."
Truly God's providence has saved us all from a fate of death. "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life"
(Jn 3:16). Therefore, "see that ye refuse not Him..." (Heb 12:25). "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rm 10:13) from the "wages of sin" (Rm 6:23a) which is "death" (Rm 6:23b).
