In 1919, Walt Disney (1901-1966) was told by the editor of the Kansas City Star newspaper, for whom he worked, that he "lacked imagination." Consequently he was fired. Years later in 1996, a twist of fate occurred when the Walt Disney Company purchased ABC which, at the time, owned the Kansas City Star newspaper. Had Disney believed the words he had heard, he would never have endured to become the successful person he was.
Like Disney, you also may encounter naysayers who would discourage and hinder you from prospering and making something good of yourself. If such be your situation, do as Disney did and don't be intimidated by everything you hear. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power... and of a sound mind" (2Tim 1:7). Therefore, "be not afraid... for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest" (Joshua 1:9). He "always causeth us to triumph in Christ" (2Cor 2:14).
