Thirty miles southeast of Los Vegas, Nevada in Black Canyon, spanning the Colorado River, stands the colossal Hoover Dam. When finished in 1935, its 726 ft. height made it the tallest dam in the world. Its 660 ft. base makes it thicker than two football fields put together. There is enough concrete in the dam to construct a 4 ft. wide sidewalk around the earth at the equator. In his dedication speech on September 30, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945) commended the workers who gave their all to built the dam by saying, "I congratulate you... well done."
If we "serve the Lord" (Ps 100:2) and give Him our all, we likewise will hear the words at journey's end, "well done thou good and faithful servant... enter... into the joy of thy lord" (Mt 25:21).
