Forgiven

Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
(Hebrews 10:17)

Hack Wilson     During the 1929 Baseball World Series, Hack Wilson (1900-1948) played for the Chicago Cubs. Due to the blinding sun, he missed catching a fly ball to center field. His error cost his team the National League pennant. The next year in 1930 Wilson hit 56 home runs, a record that stood for 68 years. Unfortunately few people remember him for that accomplishment. He is mainly remembered for his blunder.
Like Wilson, we all have made mistakes. But when we confess our sins to God and ask His forgiveness; He, unlike man, forgets all about them. He has promised, "I will be merciful..., and (your) sins... will I remember no more"
(Heb 8:12). Therefore "be glad" (Ps 32:11) and "rejoice in the Lord" (Phil 4:4). For "the blood of Jesus Christ... cleanseth us from all sin" (1Jn 1:7).
