 In 1932 Mildred "Babe" Didrikson (1911-1956) competed in the Amateur Athletic Union's Women's Field and Track Championships. As she moved from one event to another, she boldly declared to her rivals, "I'm going to win..." Of the eight events she entered, she won five and placed second in another. Her wins earned her a position on the U.S. Olympic team. During the 1932 Summer Olympics she won two gold medals in field and track. From 1932 to 1954, the Associated Press six times voted her "Woman Athlete of the Year".
Like Babe, the children of Jehovah God can also say, "I'm going to win." For "God always causeth us to triumph in Christ" (2Cor 2:14) and "giveth us the victory" (1Cor 15:57). Therefore "fret not" (Ps 37:1) when faced with overwhelming challenges, for "we are more than conquerors through Him (Jesus) that loved us" (Rm 8:37).
