A Special Privilege

 Be fruitful...
(Genesis 1:22)

Irving Berlin     Irving Berlin, born Israel Isidore Baline, (1888-1989) was a Russian Jewish immigrant to the United States who wrote an estimated 1,500 songs. Among them are well known favorites such as "White Christmas" and "God Bless America." On his seventy-seventh birthday, feeling as though he still had a lot to live for, he expressed his optimism to a news reporter by saying, "I'm looking... forward to what I'm going to do after my birthday. The question is, are you going to be a crabby old man, or are you going to write another song?" He chose to write new songs and continued living a fruitful life to the ripe old age of 101.
Growing old is a privilege many never get to enjoy. Therefore make the most of each day and "eat not the bread of idleness"
(Prov 31:27). Like Irving Berlin, choose to live a productive life and continue to "bring forth fruit in old age" (Ps 92:14).
