Greg LeMond (B: 1961) is a three-time winner of the Tour de France, a 2,000 plus mile bicycling race over France's rolling countryside and mountains. In July 1986, Greg was the first American to win the prestigious race. He was on top of the world until the following April at which time he was brought low as a result of being shot in an hunting accident. Instead of staying down, he rose back up and began competing again. During the 1989 Tour de France, he exceeded his own expectations and pedaled his way to first place. His time was the fastest of any Tour de France participant to date. Sports Illustrated named him Sportsman of the Year. The following year, in 1990, he returned and won his third Tour de France. Some consider him the greatest cyclist ever.
Perhaps you, like Greg LeMond, have been shot down and brought low by some adversity. If so "be of good courage" (Ps 31:24) for "the Lord... raiseth up all those that be... down" (Ps 145:14). "They shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away" (Isa 51:11).
