 Country music legend Johnny Cash (1932-2003) grew up listening to the radio, dreaming of the day he could also sing on the radio. In 1954, his dream began to come true when he moved to Memphis, Tenessee where he hoped to get an audition at Sun Records. Four times he knocked on their door. Each time he was turned away. Not one to give up easily, he camped out at the studio's entrance. Eventually he cornered one of Sun's producers, Jack Clement, and talked him into letting him play a song. Clement was so impressed with Cash that he invited him back to sing for the studio's owner, Sam Phillips. Cash won Phillips over with his songs and was soon on his way to seeing his dream fulfilled.
Johnny Cash persevered and kept knocking until the door opened. Likewise if you want something from God that's in agreement with His word, "pray without ceasing" (1Thes 5:17) until the answer comes. Jesus said if you "ask... ye shall receive" (Jn 16:24) and if you "knock it shall be opened unto you" (Mt 7:7).
