A just man falleth…
and riseth up again

     In 1943, while serving as a naval engineer, Richard James (1918-1974) was attempting to invent a stabilizing device for sensitive instruments on U.S. warships. He believed that springs were the answer. After much experimentation, the outcome was a total failure. One day he accidentally knocked an experimental spring off his desk. Instead of just plopping to the floor, it stepped end-over-end and landed upright in a recoiled position. Realizing he had unintentionally invented a new toy, he showed it to his wife, Betty. She named it "Slinky" because of its slithering motion. Soon afterwards, they started their own company and became successful entrepreneurs.
     Just as Richard James' failure was turned into success, Jehovah God can also turn your failures into success. He maketh "all things to work together for good to them that love Him" (Rm 8:28) and "causeth us to triumph in Christ" (2Co 2:14). Though "many are the afflictions of the righteous… the Lord delivereth… out of them all" (Ps 34:19) that He may raise us up and turn our "sorrow into joy" (Jn 16:20).
