A Good Finish

 Endure
(2Timothy 4:5)

Musher     Libby Riddles (b: 1956) was an American musher who won the 1985 Alaskan Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. The 1,000-plus-mile race is a test of endurance going from Anchorage to Nome. As the race began, Libby got off to a bad start. Her dogs took a wrong turn, flipped her sled and dragged her face-down through the snow. For the next eighteen days she endured numerous other trials and hardships. As she neared Nome, while her fellow competitors took shelter from a bad storm, Riddles decided to endure the storm and continue pressing on. Her bold move put her in the lead. A few days later she crossed the finish line, ahead of her competition, and won the $50K prize.
If we likewise want to finish the race of life well and be a winner like Libby Riddles, we also must "endure unto the end"
(Mt 24:13). Let us therefore "by patient continuance" (Rm 2:7) "press toward the… prize" (Phil 3:14) which is "the gift of... eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rm 6:23).
