On July 27, 1996, Richard Jewell (1962-2007) was working as a security guard at the Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia when he discovered a backpack containing a bomb. Immediately he informed authorities of the threat and began evacuating the area. His actions saved countless lives. Early news reports declared him to be a hero. Soon afterwards however he was vilified when the FBI began treating him as a suspect. For 88 days, Jewell's life was ripped apart and dragged thru the mud as the FBI investigated him. After destroying his good name, they eventually admitted that they had been wrong about their suspicions of him. It wasn’t until 2003, when the real bomber Eric Rudolph (b: 1966) was arrested and confessed to the crime, that Jewell was fully exonerated.
Perhaps you, like Richard Jewell, have also been falsely accused. If so, "fret not" (Ps 37:1) for "the Lord... will plead your cause" (Jer 51:36). He will "execute judgment" (Jer 23:5) for you and cause you to "overcome at the last" (Gen 49:19).
