 Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) was an American inventor, publisher, scientist and diplomat who once made the following observation, "In New England they once thought blackbirds useless, and mischievous to the corn. They made efforts to destroy them. The consequence was, the blackbirds were diminished; but a kind of worm, which devoured their grass, and which the blackbirds used to feed on, increased prodigiously; then, finding their loss in grass much greater than their saving in corn, they wished again for their blackbirds."
Like those blackbirds, you also may be made to feel useless at times. But, that is not how God sees you. He has a plan for your life. "God... created all things... (that includes you) ...according to His eternal purpose" (Eph 3:9,11). Therefore when you feel empty, useless, and lost; "come to Jesus" (Mk 5:15). He will "work all things together for your good... according to His purpose" (Rm 8:28).
